Oil India holds 40% interest in Area-1 Offshore Rovuma Basin, Mozambique, through BREML joint venture. The project plans two LNG trains with total capacity of 13.12 MMTPA. In April 2021, security issues in Cabo Delgado Province led to declaration of Force Majeure and suspension of development. With security now significantly improved, concessionaires have decided to lift the Force Majeure, allowing development activities to resume.
Positive for Oil India. Lifting of Force Majeure clears path to resume development of 13.12 MMTPA Mozambique LNG project.
