Ola Electric's subsidiary Ola Cell Technologies received BIS certification for its indigenously developed 46100 LFP cylindrical cell, becoming the first Indian company to achieve this for a 46100 format cell. The cell also qualified under IS 16893 and UN 38.3 standards after passing safety, thermal abuse, and mechanical tests. It offers over 170 Wh/kg energy density and targets more than 4,000 charge cycles. This expands Ola's in-house cell portfolio beyond its NMC 4680 Bharat Cell, supporting future EVs and energy storage products.
Positive — BIS approval validates Ola's indigenous battery tech, expands its cell portfolio, and strengthens its position in advanced battery manufacturing for EVs and storage.
