Orchid Pharma has signed a licensing and supply deal with Russia's Pharmasyntez JSC to commercialize Exblifep (Cefepime/Enmetazobactam), a novel antibiotic for complicated urinary tract infections and hospital pneumonia. Pharmasyntez gets exclusive rights to register and sell in Russia; Orchid will supply the finished product. Subject to Russian health ministry approval. Exblifep is already approved by US FDA and EMA. The deal represents a potential opportunity of about USD 178 million over 10 years.
