Organic Recycling Systems announced that its proprietary 'MethanoBoost Catalyst' (MBC) has been independently validated by the government-affiliated Sardar Swarn Singh-National Institute of Bio-Energy (SSS-NIBE) through lab tests and pilot-scale trials. The catalyst uses dispersed nanoparticles to enable in-situ CO₂ methanation and is claimed to boost biomethane yield by up to 30% while improving process stability in anaerobic digestion systems. Following the validation, ORS plans demonstration deployments at select commercial Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants across India, with the aim of integrating it into future projects. The innovation is positioned as supporting the Government's National Bio-Energy Mission and the SATAT scheme target of setting up 5,000 CBG plants. The company currently operates 400 tonnes per day of processing capacity, of which about 50% is utilized.
Positive medium-term signal: a validated, efficiency-boosting technology could strengthen ORS's licensing and EPC prospects in the CBG space and improve plant economics for customers, but near-term revenue impact depends on the commercial rollout and adoption pace.
