Pakka Limited has disclosed detailed cost bifurcation of its 'Jagriti Project', a major capital expenditure programme at its existing manufacturing facility in Ayodhya. The total revised project cost stands at INR 744 crore, significantly higher due to cost escalations from design changes, time overruns, and foreign exchange fluctuations. The project includes installation of a new paper machine (PM-4), upgradation of existing facilities, pulp mill expansion, captive power generation, and environmental infrastructure. Funding of INR 129.91 crore will come from a preferential issue (equity shares and warrants). Phase I is expected to complete by July 2025, Phase II by December 2026, and full commercial operations will commence from January 2027.
This is a capacity expansion and modernization announcement that demonstrates commitment to backward integration and operational growth. While the project cost escalation is notable, successful execution could significantly increase the company's production capacity and operational efficiency, which is positive for long-term shareholders.
