Godawari Power & Ispat has temporarily halted mining at its Boria Tibu Iron Ore Mines in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, effective 1st April 2025. The suspension is due to the expiry of the mining plan approval from the Indian Bureau of Mines on 31st March 2025. The company has already applied for renewal and expects operations to resume within around 10 days of receiving the renewed approval. The mine has an annual rated capacity of 7,05,000 tonnes. The company has stated there is no major financial impact, as the mine's contribution to profitability was negligible due to high operating costs.
Short-term operational disruption, but the company claims negligible impact on overall profitability given the mine's small contribution. Investors should watch for the renewal approval and resumption update in the coming days.
