GAIL has pushed back the completion deadline for its 744 Km Srikakulam Angul Pipeline Project from June 2025 to December 2025, a delay of about six months. The 422 Km mainline is fully mechanically completed and commissioning has begun. However, the 322 Km spur line is behind schedule because forest clearance is pending — only 45 Km of the required 56 Km working permission has been received so far. The revision was approved by GAIL's Board on June 23, 2025. No additional investment approval is required as part of this disclosure.
The six-month delay is modest and limited to the spur line, with the mainline already done. The delay stems from external regulatory (forest clearance) issues rather than execution problems, so financial impact should be limited. Shareholders are unlikely to see a major negative reaction, though commissioning of the full project will now slip to late 2025.
