PNC Infratech has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder in a tender floated by government-owned NHPC Limited for setting up a 300 MW ISTS-connected solar power project bundled with a 150MW/600MWh energy storage system. The bid price was Rs 3.13 per kWh through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (reverse auction). This is part of a larger 1200 MW tender by NHPC, where PNC secured 300 MW out of the total capacity. Power supply must commence within 24 months of the PPA effective date, and the agreement runs for 25 years from that date. NHPC is acting as the intermediary procurer/renewable energy implementing agency, and the order is fully domestic with no related-party interest.
This is a sizeable long-tenure order win from a central government PSU, strengthening PNC's renewable energy order book and providing 25-year revenue visibility. Positive for shareholder sentiment, though execution timelines and capex requirements will be key watchpoints.
