Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has won a transmission project under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route, receiving the Letter of Intent on 08th January 2026. The project involves building a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line in Karnataka to integrate 3 GW of renewable energy potential from Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW) pooling stations. It will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis and includes associated line bays and augmentation works such as ICTs and line bays at both pooling stations. The project supports the government's push to evacuate clean energy from the southern grid.
This order strengthens POWERGRID's transmission project pipeline and supports its regulated and TBCB business segments. Renewable energy integration projects typically carry stable, long-term revenue under cost-plus or tariff-based frameworks, which is positive for cash flows and earnings visibility.
