Schaeffler India has inaugurated its fifth manufacturing plant at Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to producing conventional and hybrid powertrain components including planetary gear systems and hybrid transmission parts. Phase 1 covers 16,500 sqm of a 108,000 sqm land parcel, with full ramp-up expected by Q4 CY2025. The launch is part of a broader ₹1,700 crore investment made over 2022–2024 to expand local capabilities—exceeding the original ₹1,500 crore commitment. The facility features sustainability measures such as rainwater harvesting, zero liquid discharge, LED lighting, and battery-operated material handling equipment.
Positive for shareholders—the new capacity supports Schaeffler India's growth in conventional and electrified powertrains, aligning with India's e-mobility transition and the company's long-term expansion strategy. The capacity ramp-up by end-2025 should help drive incremental revenues from FY2026 onward.
