Prostarm Info Systems is setting up a new 1.2 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing plant at Reliance MET City in Jhajjar, Haryana, marking its entry into the BESS OEM space. The company has taken a 9-year lease (May 2025 to April 2034) on a 3,912.15 sq. meter land parcel with a 34,000 sq. ft. covered shed area. Total planned capex is INR 25 Crores, covering plant and machinery, HVAC, power upgrades, warehousing, and other infrastructure. The facility will serve both Commercial & Industrial and Utility-scale customers, with commissioning targeted by the end of FY2026. Prostarm already has a 22 MWh order from Adani Electricity Mumbai worth Rs. 52 Crores and an LOI from Bihar State Power Generation Company for 120 MWh on a 12-year BOOT rental model at Rs. 4.44 lakh/MW per month. India's BESS market is projected to grow from under 0.2 GW today to 66 GW by 2032.
