Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTC Industries, has completed the installation of a Plasma Arc Melting (PAM) furnace at its Strategic Manufacturing Technology Centre (SMTC) in Lucknow. The furnace has an installed capacity of approximately 600 tonnes per annum for manufacturing Titanium alloy ingots. All electrical, mechanical, and control panel installations are finished, and the furnace is now ready for trials before full commissioning. The PAM technology will allow Aerolloy to produce high-quality Titanium and specialty alloys for aerospace, defence, and space applications, with the ability to remelt internal scrap and produce customised exotic alloys in smaller batches. Together with existing Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) and Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) infrastructure, this strengthens PTC's position as an integrated Titanium and Superalloy manufacturing platform in India.
This is a positive milestone for shareholders as it expands PTC's specialty alloy capabilities into a high-value segment with strong demand from aerospace and defence sectors. While the furnace is not yet operational and revenue contribution is still ahead, successful commissioning could open up new growth opportunities in import substitution and export-oriented aerospace and defence supply chains.
