Reliance Industries, through its step-down wholly owned subsidiary Nauyaan Tradings Private Limited (NTPL), has acquired the remaining 6.1% equity stake in Nauyaan Shipyard Private Limited (NSPL) from Welspun Corp Limited for Rs. 45.32 crore. With this acquisition, NSPL has now become a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Reliance Industries. This follows earlier disclosures made in March, April, and July 2025, indicating this was the final tranche to achieve full ownership. The transaction is not a related party transaction, and no promoter or group company has any interest in it. Approvals are being sought from relevant authorities under existing agreements.
This is a small, incremental acquisition that gives Reliance Industries complete ownership of NSPL, a shipyard company. The Rs. 45.32 crore consideration is immaterial to Reliance's overall scale, so the direct impact on shareholders is minimal. However, it signals continued consolidation of Reliance's shipyard and marine infrastructure interests.
