Reliance Industries has signed a binding long-term Supply and Purchase Agreement with Samsung C&T Corporation of South Korea to supply Green Ammonia over a 15-year period starting in the second half of FY2029. The deal is valued at more than US$3 billion and is described as one of the largest binding long-term Green Ammonia off-take agreements globally. The supply will come from RIL's integrated New Energy platform at Jamnagar, which combines renewable power, green hydrogen, and indigenously manufactured electrolyser, solar, and battery storage technologies. The agreement is the first in a series of expected long-term export partnerships supporting the scale-up of RIL's green hydrogen and ammonia business, aligning with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Positive for Reliance's New Energy ambitions — it provides long-term revenue visibility from FY2029 and validates the commercial viability of its green ammonia exports, though the contracted value is small relative to RIL's overall US$125 billion annual revenue. Watch for similar follow-on offtake deals as the Jamnagar complex ramps up.
