On the reaction day the stock moved 0.1 pts less than Nifty 100 and 0.6 pts more than its Refineries & Marketing peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
RIL has amalgamated 16 of its step-down wholly-owned subsidiaries working in power electronics, electrolysers, green hydrogen, energy storage, carbon fibre cylinders, hydrogen fuel cells and new energy projects into Reliance New Energy Limited (RNEL), itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of RIL. The merger is effective January 21, 2026, under an order from the Regional Director, Western Region, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Since all merging entities are wholly owned by RIL, there is no change in ultimate ownership.
Pure internal restructuring of wholly-owned units. No change in shareholding or shareholder value. Streamlines new energy businesses under one entity.
