Sai Life Sciences has started commercial production at the second and final phase of its Unit IV facility in Bidar, Karnataka, adding ~91 kL of capacity on 19 June 2025. This completes the overall ~195 kL capacity addition that was disclosed in the company's IPO prospectus. With this phase going live, the combined capacity at Unit IV rises to ~640 kL. The facility will produce registered starting materials, intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for both clinical and commercial supply.
This is a positive operational milestone that expands Sai Life Sciences' manufacturing capacity on schedule as promised during its IPO, which should support future revenue growth. Investors may view the on-time commissioning as a sign of execution capability, though the stock reaction will depend on near-term order book updates and demand absorption for the new capacity.
