Sai Parenterals has completed the acquisition of a 60 percent equity stake in Prathyak Laboratories, an operating research and development facility in Genome Valley, Hyderabad, for Rs 15 crore funded from unutilised IPO proceeds. Prathyak, now renamed Sai Prathyak Laboratories, brings 28 research scientists and a pipeline of 150 SKUs across 86 molecules in complex injectables and oncology. The deal replaces a planned greenfield research centre. The remaining 40 percent can be acquired later via a right of first refusal at the same valuation, funded from internal accruals.
Speeds up injectable development pipeline, brings 28 scientists and 150 SKUs in house, supports regulated market growth, with option to fully own later.
