Samhi Hotels has received approval from the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) for the layout plans of a new hotel project in Whitefield, Bangalore. The project will be developed by Innmar Tourism and Hotels Private Limited (ITHPL), a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Samhi Hotels, on Plot No. 134, 135, 136 (P) in the EPIP, Whitefield Industrial Area. The second hotel will have approximately 235 rooms under the 'Westin Hotels & Resorts' brand in the Upper Upscale segment. Combined with the 142 rooms of the existing operating hotel, the total inventory at the complex will reach around 377 rooms. This is an update to the company's earlier disclosure from October 4, 2024, when the SPV was originally acquired with a plan for 200-220 rooms, which has now been expanded to about 235 rooms.
This is a positive development for shareholders as it moves the Whitefield expansion project forward, adding significant room inventory (235 new rooms) in a key Bangalore micro-market under a premium global brand. Investors should note that the hotel is still in the planning/approval stage and actual construction, opening, and revenue contribution are still some time away.
