Motherson commissioned a 15 MWp ground-mounted captive solar power plant in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh through subsidiary Onega Solar Private Limited, under its energy arm Motherson New Energy Limited. The facility is expected to generate about 23.4 GWh of renewable electricity annually and cut roughly 17,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Power will be supplied to Motherson manufacturing plants across the state. The project was developed in partnership with ib vogt, a German renewable energy firm. The move supports Motherson broader clean energy transition strategy and long-term energy cost visibility.
Positive for sustainability profile; expected to lower long-term energy costs and strengthen energy security across Motherson manufacturing operations.
