Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores has received the Maximum Permissible Annual Production (MPAP) allocation of 0.5041 MTPA of silicious hematitic ore from the Monitoring Committee set up by the Supreme Court of India, via letter dated 7 May 2025. This allocation covers the remaining 11 months of FY 2025-26 and is over and above the existing approved production of 3.81 MTPA from Mining Lease No. 2678. The MPAP is the final step in the company's plan to raise iron ore production capacity from 3.81 MTPA to 4.36 MTPA, following earlier approvals from the Central Empowered Committee (January 2025) and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (April 2025). The effective capacity addition is around 13% over the previously permitted level.
Positive for shareholders — the company can now ramp up iron ore production, which should support higher volumes and revenues in FY 2025-26. The successful navigation of all regulatory approvals removes a key operational bottleneck and reflects smooth execution of the expansion plan.
