Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores has received the final allocation of Maximum Permissible Annual Production (MPAP) from the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee for Mining Lease No. 2678. The company has been allocated an additional 0.5041 MTPA of silicious hematitic ore, valid for the remaining 11 months of FY 2025-26, over and above its existing approved capacity of 3.81 MTPA. This brings total approved iron ore production capacity to 4.36 MTPA, completing the regulatory clearance process that began with the Central Empowered Committee approval in January 2025 and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board's Consent for Operation (Expansion) in April 2025.
This is a positive development for shareholders as the company can now ramp up iron ore production by about 14% (0.55 MTPA over the existing 3.81 MTPA), which should support higher revenue and utilization in FY 2025-26, subject to demand and pricing conditions.
