Saraswati Commercial (India) Ltd, an NBFC, has applied for 19,89,395 equity shares of Atlanta Electricals Limited at Rs. 754 per share under the QIB (Qualified Institutional Buyer) segment of Atlanta's IPO. The total application value is about Rs. 150 crore. The investment represents 2.59% of Atlanta's post-issue share capital. Atlanta Electricals manufactures power and special duty transformers, with FY25 turnover of Rs. 1,250.49 crore and net worth of Rs. 349.90 crore. Saraswati states this is a financial investment made in the normal course of its NBFC business and is not a related-party transaction. Due to likely oversubscription, the actual allotment may fall below SEBI disclosure thresholds, but the disclosure is being made as good governance.
This is a portfolio investment by Saraswati as a QIB in Atlanta Electricals' IPO, not a strategic acquisition. For Saraswati shareholders, it signals active deployment of capital into primary markets, but the size (~Rs. 150 crore applied) is meaningful relative to the company. No impact on Saraswati's controlling structure or Atlanta's listing day performance is indicated.
