The Board approved INR 211 crore of investment to expand the existing Kolkata Medium Voltage Components facility. Vacuum Interrupter capacity will rise from 250,000 to 375,000 units per year, and new Breaker capacity of 18,000 units per year will be added. Completion is targeted by the end of FY 2028-29, funded through internal accruals and/or external borrowings to support export growth and technology upgrades.
The expansion may support export growth and higher volumes, but the investment and possible borrowing could weigh on cash flow and execution.
