SG Finserve (an NBFC) reported unaudited Q1 FY26 results showing total income of Rs 6,759.01 lakhs, up about 51.6% year-on-year from Rs 4,459.35 lakhs in Q1 FY25, driven mainly by higher interest income. Profit after tax rose to Rs 2,451.60 lakhs, up roughly 26.5% from Rs 1,938.83 lakhs a year ago. Basic EPS improved to Rs 4.39 from Rs 3.52. The board also recommended replacing statutory auditor AKGVG & Associates with S.P. Chopra & Co. for a three-year term, approved an ESOP pool of 20 lakh shares via the trust route, and re-appointed Independent Director Ms. Asha Anil Agarwal for a second five-year term. Asset quality remains clean with NIL gross and net NPAs, though CRAR dipped to 39.47% from 43.46% and debt-equity rose to 1.64x from 1.38x.
Strong YoY revenue and PAT growth along with zero NPAs are positives for shareholders, but QoQ net profit margin slipped to 36.27% from 41.99% and leverage has risen, which may temper sentiment. The auditor change and fresh ESOP plan are administrative actions requiring shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM.
