Shahlon Silk Industries has received Consent to Establish from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for a 5 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and a 2 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Chhamuchhal, Taluka Mangrol, District Surat. The total estimated project cost is ₹67.93 crore, with completion targeted by December 2026. The company has also applied for grant assistance under the Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020. Separately, the company has commenced planning for a larger 20 MLD CETP at Tadkeshwar, Mandvi (Surat), with Phase I covering 10 MLD, and consultants have been engaged for the Detailed Project Report. The facility is expected to enable 85–90% reduction in groundwater consumption through large-scale reuse of treated water for nearby textile units.
The regulatory approval de-risks the ~₹68 crore environmental infrastructure investment and may unlock government grants, reducing net cost. Longer term, the CETP vertical could become an additional revenue stream beyond the core textile business and strengthen the company's sustainability profile.
