Shakti Pumps (India) has invested Rs. 12 Crores into its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), through equity shares. SESL is setting up a new greenfield manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, for high efficiency solar DCR cells and solar PV modules with a production capacity of 2.20 GW. SESL's turnover has grown steadily from Rs. 99.15 Crores in FY23 to Rs. 139.59 Crores in FY24 and Rs. 216.53 Crores in FY25. The company currently makes solar structures and solar rooftop products and is expanding into cell and module manufacturing. No government or regulatory approvals are required for the investment, which is being made on a non-related party basis.
This is an initial equity infusion into a subsidiary to fund a significant expansion into solar cell and module manufacturing, signalling Shakti Pumps' forward integration in the solar value chain. Shareholders should view this as a strategic growth move that could boost future revenues, though execution risk of the 2.20 GW greenfield project remains.
