Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) reported its Q1 FY26 results on August 8, 2025. Standalone revenue from operations came in at ₹1,31,568 lakhs, down from ₹1,51,407 lakhs in Q1 FY25, but profit after tax rose to ₹34,323 lakhs (vs ₹28,692 lakhs) and EPS improved to ₹7.37 (vs ₹6.16), helped by higher other income and lower costs. The Tanker segment remained the biggest profit driver at ₹24,474 lakhs, while Bulk Carriers slipped into a loss of ₹4,801 lakhs. The Board also appointed M/s Upendra Shukla & Associates as Secretarial Auditor for five years (FY26–FY30), subject to shareholder approval. Statutory auditors D.R. Mohnot & Co and PSD & Associates issued an unmodified limited review report. Ongoing matters include the government's strategic disinvestment process and the long-pending PRP (performance pay) issue with the Ministry of Ports.
Stronger profitability despite weaker top-line reflects cost discipline and higher interest/other income; the secretarial auditor appointment is routine and has no material impact on shareholders. Watch the ongoing government disinvestment process as a key overhang.
