Shiva Cement Ltd has informed BSE that the 1.0 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) cement grinding unit being set up by Bhushan Power & Steel Limited (BPSL) at its Sambalpur, Odisha premises is ready for commissioning on 4 September 2025. The unit is being built by BPSL on behalf of Shiva Cement, which retains the right to subsequently acquire it. The project was originally approved by Shiva Cement's board in July 2024 and by shareholders in September 2024, followed by a binding MOU in October 2024, an amendment in December 2024, and a final implementation agreement in January 2025. The unit is now fully prepared to commence commercial operations.
This is a positive milestone for Shiva Cement as it adds 1.0 MTPA of cement grinding capacity without direct capex burden on Shiva Cement's books, and gives the company an option to acquire the unit later, supporting future revenue and volume growth.
