Shoppers Stop's Board approved unaudited Q1 FY26 results on July 17, 2025. Standalone revenue from operations grew ~5.9% YoY to Rs 1,094.19 crores, while consolidated revenue rose ~8.6% to Rs 1,161.08 crores. The company narrowed its standalone net loss to Rs (17.89) crores from Rs (22.51) crores a year earlier, and consolidated net loss to Rs (15.74) crores from Rs (22.72) crores. Finance costs rose to Rs 71.84 crores (standalone) from Rs 60.37 crores YoY, and depreciation remained heavy at Rs 128.22 crores. The auditor (SR BC & Co LLP) issued an unmodified limited review report but flagged an Emphasis of Matter on a Rs 16.60 crores (standalone) / Rs 20.11 crores (consolidated) retrospective service tax dispute pending before the Supreme Court. Additionally, B.S. Nagesh retired as Chairman effective July 17 and Nirvik Singh was appointed Chairman effective July 18.
Loss continued in Q1, though narrowed YoY, and the stock remains loss-making at the bottom line despite decent revenue growth. The Emphasis of Matter on the service tax contingency and rising finance costs are points investors should track. The leadership change at Chairman level is a governance event to monitor.
