CARE Ratings has upgraded Shriram Finance's credit ratings on its Non-Convertible Debentures (₹2,368.88 crore) and Subordinated Debt (₹156.10 crore) from 'CARE AA+; Stable' to 'CARE AAA; Stable'. The rating on its Commercial Paper programme of ₹7,500 crore has been reaffirmed at 'CARE A1+', the highest short-term rating. The upgrade was based on a review of the company's operational and financial performance for FY25 (audited) and H1FY26 (unaudited). Shriram Finance now holds the highest investment-grade rating from CARE for its long-term debt instruments.
This is a positive development for shareholders — the upgrade to AAA (the highest safety category) reflects strong creditworthiness, lowers borrowing costs, and boosts investor confidence. It may support the stock price in the short term and benefit existing debenture holders.
