Sigma Advanced Systems has begun production at its 75,000 sq ft Sri City aerospace facility in Andhra Pradesh, part of a planned 500,000 sq ft campus. The first batch of precision-machined components has been shipped to Sigma UK for verification ahead of customer delivery, and the firm has completed initial stages of the source-change approval with Rolls-Royce Aerospace. Current annual capacity is 100,000 machining hours, expandable to about 300,000. Roughly 70% of manufacturing is expected to shift to India eventually, with the facility expected to create 500-plus jobs over 2-3 years and drive double-digit EBITA expansion.
Marks a key operational milestone for the aerospace export business. Rolls-Royce supplier approval and capacity scale-up support future revenue and margin growth.
