Star Cement has been declared the preferred bidder for a mining lease in Boro Lakhindong (West Block), District Dima Hasao, Assam. The lease covers 123 hectares with an estimated limestone resource of 207.822 million tonnes. The lease was secured through e-auctions conducted by the Government of Assam. This is a significant long-term asset for the company as limestone is a key raw material for cement production.
Securing 207 million tonnes of limestone reserves strengthens long-term raw material security and supports future capacity expansion.
