On the reaction day the stock moved 3.4 pts less than Nifty Smallcap 250 and 3.8 pts less than its General Insurance peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Q2 FY26 profit after tax was Rs 54.85 crore, down from Rs 111.70 crore. Half-year profit was Rs 317.42 crore versus Rs 430.21 crore. Q2 gross written premium was Rs 8,029.30 crore. Auditors gave an unmodified review, but half-year operating cash flow was negative Rs 144.80 crore. The premium-recognition change cut Q2 gross premium by Rs 449.41 crore with no material profit impact. IRDAI's Rs 3.39 crore cyber-security penalty was paid in September.
Lower profit and negative operating cash flow add near-term pressure. Higher premium helps, but the accounting change and IRDAI penalty remain risks.
