State Bank of India has reported standalone net profit of ₹80,032.01 crore for FY2025-26, up 12.9% from ₹70,900.63 crore in the previous year. Total income grew to ₹7,09,616.96 crore from ₹6,63,343.32 crore, driven by a 5.9% rise in net interest income to ₹3,50,004.36 crore. The bank posted an EPS of ₹87.59 versus ₹79.44 YoY. Gross NPA ratio increased slightly to 1.82% (from 1.49%) and net NPA to 0.47%, while the provision coverage ratio stood at 74.36%. The board declared a dividend of ₹17.35 per share (1735%). The bank also raised ₹25,000 crore via a QIB issue in July 2025 and reported an exceptional profit of ₹24,832.02 crore from Yes Bank divestment. The audit report was issued with an unmodified (unqualified) opinion.
Strong profit growth and healthy capital adequacy (15.40% Basel III) are positives for shareholders. The slight increase in NPA ratios warrants monitoring, but the clean audit opinion and dividend declaration are reassuring signs for investors.
