SBI has allotted Rs 4,691 crore Basel III compliant Additional Tier 1 perpetual bonds at a coupon of 7.75%. The unsecured, subordinated bonds have a face value of Rs 1 crore each and were allotted on 30 July 2026. Interest is paid annually on 30 July. The issuance strengthens SBI's capital base under Basel III norms.
Strengthens SBI's capital adequacy. Perpetual AT1 bonds carry risk of coupon skipping under stress. Issue size of about Rs 4,691 crore is modest.
