Studds Accessories Ltd, the maker of SMK and Studds helmets, has completed the registration of its new Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) in Italy. The WOS, named SMK Helmets Europe SRL, has been set up with a capital of EUR 300,000 (approximately ₹2.7 crore at current rates) with 100% stake held by the company. The subsidiary's registered office is in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The WOS will handle import, export, wholesale, and retail distribution (including e-commerce) of protective helmets, accessories, spare parts, clothing, and footwear for motorcycling, cycling, sports, and personal safety. The company states this is part of its global growth strategy to strengthen presence in Europe. The Managing Director Mr. Sidhartha Khurana is on the WOS board, and day-to-day operations are managed by Mr. Matteo Schieppati.
This is a positive strategic move as the WOS will operate in the same line of business as the parent company, expanding Studds' footprint in the European market. While the initial investment is modest at EUR 300,000, this signals the company's intent to directly tap into European markets, potentially improving revenue visibility over time.
