Sun Pharma has launched LEQSELVI (deuruxolitinib) 8 mg tablets in the United States for the treatment of adults with severe alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition causing patchy or total hair loss. The drug is an oral JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor and is now available by prescription nationwide in the US, following its prior FDA approval. In clinical trials (THRIVE-AA1 and THRIVE-AA2), one-third of patients regained almost all of their hair by Week 24, with some achieving 80%+ scalp coverage as early as 8 weeks. Sun Pharma will offer a support program providing eligible patients access to the medication for as little as $0 for up to two years. This strengthens the company's specialty/dermatology portfolio in the US, which already accounts for over 18% of company sales.
