Suryoday Small Finance Bank reported FY25 gross advances of Rs 10,251 Cr, up 18.5% YoY, and deposits of Rs 10,580 Cr, up 36% YoY. Total income rose 12% to Rs 1,323 Cr and net interest income grew 15% to Rs 1,106 Cr, but pre-provision operating profit fell 14.3% to Rs 389 Cr. Profit after tax dropped 46.8% to Rs 115 Cr for FY25, and the bank slipped into a Rs 33.8 Cr loss in Q4 FY25 against a Rs 60.8 Cr profit a year earlier. Asset quality deteriorated sharply with GNPA rising to 7.2% from 2.8% and NNPA to 4.6% from 0.8%, driven by stress in the microfinance portfolio. Capital position remained healthy with CRAR at 25.8%, and the bank expects Rs 460 Cr receivable under the CGFMU guarantee scheme against its Rs 457 Cr unprovided GNPA.
Shareholders face a mixed picture: strong growth in deposits and secured retail assets (mortgages and wheels up 30%+), but rising NPAs, compressed margins (NIM down 87 bps to 9.0%), higher cost-to-income ratio, and a sharp PAT decline may weigh on stock sentiment in the near term.
