Suryoday Small Finance Bank's board approved audited results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025. Total income for the year rose about 20% to ₹2,17,100 lakhs from ₹1,80,809 lakhs, with deposits up to ₹11,82,087 lakhs and advances up to ₹9,97,435 lakhs. However, net profit fell sharply to ₹11,497 lakhs from ₹21,596 lakhs (~47% drop), pushing basic EPS down to ₹10.82 from ₹20.34. Gross NPA was 2.94% and Net NPA 0.84%. The statutory auditor M/s Mukund M. Chitale & Co. issued an unmodified opinion but flagged an Emphasis of Matter on lower NPA provisions (₹17,602 lakhs lower for the year) and a higher CRAR (25.83% vs 22.03% on a like-for-like basis) thanks to the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU) scheme. The board also appointed Mr. Gaurav Popat as new Chief Audit Officer from June 1, 2025 and M/s Tushar Shridharani & Associates LLP as Secretarial Auditors for five years.
Shareholders will note that strong top-line growth and stable asset quality were offset by a steep fall in profits, partly because of higher operating expenses and provisions related to stressed asset sales. The auditor's emphasis on CGFMU-linked benefits means reported profit and capital ratios look better than they would on a fully provisioned basis — investors should track underlying credit costs closely. The CFO's declaration of an unmodified opinion and the orderly succession at the audit leadership are mild positives.
