Tamilnad Mercantile Bank reported strong unaudited Q2 and half-year FY27 results. Net profit rose 42.09% year on year to ₹451 crore from ₹318 crore, and net interest income grew 35.17% to ₹807 crore. Total business rose 27.25% to ₹130,237 crore, with advances up 29.32% to ₹60,691 crore and deposits up 25.49% to ₹69,546 crore. Gross bad loans fell to 0.61% and net bad loans to 0.14%. Strong profit growth, faster lending and better loan quality support shareholder confidence, although the stock reaction will depend on valuation and sustained growth.
