Tata Power has informed the exchanges that Mr. Deepesh Nanda, President – Renewables (and MD & CEO of subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited), will resign effective May 31, 2025, citing personal and family relocation reasons after 18 months in the role. To ensure continuity, the company has internally re-designated Mr. Sanjay Banga, currently President – Transmission & Distribution, as President – Renewables with effect from June 1, 2025, and additionally appointed him as CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. Mr. Banga brings around three decades of power sector experience, including leadership of Tata Power's T&D and Delhi distribution businesses. The change has been disclosed under SEBI LODR Regulation 30 as a senior management personnel change.
This is a planned internal succession rather than an abrupt exit, so operational disruption at the renewables subsidiary should be limited. For shareholders, the signal is neutral-to-slightly-positive as a seasoned internal leader takes charge of the high-growth renewables business without an external transition gap.
