Tata Power and Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) signed an MoU in Thimphu to build a skill development ecosystem supporting the joint development of 5,000 MW clean energy capacity. The agreement will leverage Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) to deliver training in three phases: safety induction, technical construction skills, and specialized operations & maintenance for clean energy assets. The ceremony was attended by Bhutan's Prime Minister. Tata Power will provide technical expertise, training infrastructure, and accreditation while DGPC will handle trainee mobilization and Bhutanese government approvals. This MoU supports an existing partnership between the two entities for clean energy development in Bhutan.
Positive signal for Tata Power's international clean energy expansion strategy; the skill development partnership reinforces its role in a major cross-border energy project with geopolitical significance.
