On the reaction day the stock moved 2.2 pts more than Nifty 100 and 2.0 pts more than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Tata Steel Board approved acquiring 50.01% stake in Thriveni Pellets Private Limited for up to Rs 636 crore in cash. TPPL owns Brahmani River Pellet, which operates a 4 MTPA pellet plant in Odisha with a 212 km slurry pipeline. Deal needs CCI approval and is expected to close in 3 to 4 months. Not a related party transaction.
Strengthens raw material supply chain and backward integration. Pending CCI approval is the key risk; no material stock price move seen so far.
