Tata Steel has acquired additional equity shares in its wholly-owned Singapore subsidiary, T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd (TSHP), for USD 460 million (approximately ₹4,054.66 crore). The company purchased 4,57,71,14,428 equity shares with a face value of USD 0.1005 each. This is a continuation of a fund infusion plan previously disclosed on May 12, June 25, July 10, and August 26, 2025. After this acquisition, TSHP continues to remain a wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of Tata Steel, with no change in ownership structure. The USD/INR conversion was based on the RBI reference rate of ₹88.1447 as of September 22, 2025.
A significant capital outflow of around ₹4,054 crore from Tata Steel to fund its foreign subsidiary, but since TSHP remains a 100% wholly-owned arm, this is a balance sheet reshuffle with no change in consolidation or shareholder ownership. Shareholders should watch for what the subsidiary is being used to fund, as it could affect future consolidated earnings.
