Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited (TEECL) has signed binding agreements on August 20, 2025 with IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust to sell its subsidiary NERES XVI Power Transmission Limited (NPTL), which is building a 400/220/132 kV substation in upper Assam along with 45 km of double-circuit transmission line. The enterprise value is capped at INR 4,600 million (INR 460 crore), with the sale closing in one or more tranches after the project achieves its Commercial Operation Date, expected by December 2026. TEECL will continue to handle end-to-end EPC execution and project management for the asset. The project is expected to generate about INR 49 crore in annual tariff revenue for IndiGrid once operational. This is a non-related-party, all-cash transaction and deepens the long-standing partnership between TEECL and IndiGrid, which is backed by KKR.
Short-term impact is limited since NPTL is still under construction and the cash inflow of up to INR 460 crore is back-ended to post-commissioning. However, the deal validates TEECL's build-and-sell model in power transmission, locks in a clear monetisation path for the asset, and ensures steady EPC revenue during the build phase — generally a positive signal for the stock.
