GE Shipping has contracted to acquire a new Suezmax Tanker of about 157,000 dwt, to be built by a leading Far East shipbuilder, with delivery in H2 FY29. The vessel will be funded through internal accruals for fleet expansion. The company's current fleet is 40 vessels (25 tankers, 15 dry bulk) totalling 3.24 mn dwt, with utilization near 100%. Two secondhand Kamsarmax bulk carriers also contracted earlier should join by Q3 FY27.
Positive fleet expansion funded fully from internal accruals, no debt impact. High utilization supports earnings growth when new vessel delivers.
