Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed agreements to acquire around 51% equity stake in ANK Hotels Private Limited for up to ₹110 crore and in Pride Hospitality Private Limited for up to ₹94 crore, both operating hotels under the 'Clarks Hotels & Resorts' brand. Together, this adds 135 midscale hotels (80 currently operational) to IHCL's portfolio, deepening its presence in India's midscale segment under an asset-light growth strategy. IHCL has also signed a distribution and marketing agreement with Brij Hospitality, which runs 19 hotels under the Brij brand. All transactions are cash-based, not related-party deals, and are expected to close by November 15, 2025.
Positive for shareholders — IHCL is expanding its midscale footprint significantly through bolt-on acquisitions at a combined cost of ~₹204 crore, which is modest relative to its scale, while continuing its asset-light strategy. The move strengthens competitive positioning in India's fast-growing midscale hotel segment but the actual financial accretion depends on the post-integration performance of these hotels.
