Ramco Cements has sold shares it held in other companies for Rs. 17.02 crores as part of its ongoing non-core asset disposal programme. This takes the total value of non-core assets monetised by the company to Rs. 500.86 crores, out of a targeted Rs. 1,000 crores. The sale was completed on 17 July 2025 and crossed the company's materiality threshold of Rs. 15.70 crores, triggering a disclosure to the stock exchanges. The company had earlier informed the exchanges on 12 July 2025 that Rs. 483.84 crores had already been monetised under this programme, which was first announced in November 2024.
This is a positive development for shareholders as the company is steadily unlocking value from non-core investments, roughly halfway towards its Rs. 1,000 crore target. The proceeds can help reduce debt or fund core cement business expansion, though the remaining Rs. 500 crores of disposals will likely take more time to complete.
