South Indian Bank reported standalone net profit of Rs 1,95,604 lakhs for FY26, up 11.34% from Rs 1,75,689 lakhs in FY25. Total income grew 16.38% to Rs 11,22,611 lakhs from Rs 9,64,615 lakhs. Operating profit improved to Rs 2,24,696 lakhs from Rs 1,87,601 lakhs, with operating margin expanding from 19.46% to 20.02%. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs 0.45 per share (45%), up from Rs 0.40 per share (40%) in the previous year. Joint Statutory Auditors M.P. Chitale & Co. and Borkar & Muzumdar issued an unmodified opinion on the audited results. Note that K. Venkatachalam Aiyer & Co. was replaced as joint auditor this year.
The bank delivered steady profit growth with margin expansion, indicating improved operational efficiency. The increase in dividend is positive for shareholders. The clean audit opinion with no going concern issues is reassuring.
