CRISIL has upgraded Thomas Cook (India) Limited's long-term rating to 'CRISIL AA/Stable' from 'CRISIL AA-/Positive', while reaffirming the short-term rating at 'CRISIL A1+'. This is the highest credit rating ever for the company and the highest among travel and tourism firms in India. The upgrade is backed by FY25 revenue of ₹8,251 crore (up 11% YoY), with the travel segment growing 15% to ₹6,469 crore. The group has ₹2,070 crore in cash and bank balances and annual cash accruals above ₹300 crore. The upgrade also follows parent Fairfax Financial Holdings' rating upgrade by S&P to 'A-/Stable'.
Positive for shareholders — the upgrade signals strong financial health, lower future borrowing costs, and improved investor confidence, which could support the stock price and enhance the company's ability to fund growth.
